Day 01: Bangalore
Our representative will welcome you at Bangalore International Airport or Railway Station. You will be transferred to the hotel. Relax for some time and then proceed to visit half day sightseeing. Visit Halasur Someshwara Temple, built by Kempe Gowda I in the 16th century and is a mixture of Hoysala, Chola and Vijayanagara architecture. Then proceed to visit Bull Temple, it is said that Bull (Nandi) is the biggest temple to Nandi in the world. Return to the hotel and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 02: Bangalore - Somnathpura - Mysore
Morning, after breakfast, check out the hotel and drive to Somnathpur Temple. The Keshava temple at Somnathpur is the last major temple of the Hoysala dynasty. The temple was built in 1268 AD and it is the best-preserved most complete monument of Hoysala architecture. Then proceed to Mysore, the cultural city of Karnataka.On arrival at Mysore, check in to the hotel. After lunch, proceed to visit Mysore Palace, one of the most famous tourist attractions in India and most visited monument after Taj Mahal. The architectural style of the palace is commonly described as Indo-Saracenic, and blends together Hindu, Muslim, Rajput, and Gothic styles of architecture and surrounded by a large garden. Evening free for shopping, then return to the hotel and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 03: Mysore - Sravanabelagola - Halebid - Belur - Hassan
Morning, after breakfast, check out the hotel and drive to Sravanabelagola. Sravanabelagola is one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in Jainism and popular for the statue of Gommateshwara Bahubali. The 57-feet tall monolithic statue of Gommateshwara is located on Vindyagiri Hill. Then proceed to Hassan.On arrival at Hassan, check in to the hotel and then drive to Halebid, a town houses one of the best examples of Hoysala architecture in the ornate Hoysaleswara and Kedareswara temples. Halebidu was the 12th century capital of the Hoysalas. The Hoysaleswara temple, dating back to the 1121 C.E., is astounding for its wealth of sculptural details. This temple is now being proposed as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then proceed to Belur.
Belur is the small town located on the banks of river Yagachi. Belur was the early capital of the Hoysala Empire. The main attraction in Belur is the Chennakesava temple complex which contains the Chennakesava Temple as the centre piece, surrounded by the Kappe Chennigraya temple built by Shantaladevi, queen of king Vishnuvardhana. Legend has it that it took 103 years to complete and Vishnuvardhana's grandson Veera Ballala II completed the task. This temple is also now being proposed as UNESCO World Heritage Site. Return to the hotel and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 04: Hassan - Chitradurga - Hospet
Morning after breakfast, check out the hotel and drive to Chitradurga and visit famous Chitradurga Fort. The Fort was built in stages between the 10th and 18th centuries by the dynastic rulers of the region. The Chitradurga fort is built in a series of seven concentric fortification walls with various passages, a citadel, mosque, warehouses for grains and oil, water reservoirs and ancient temples. Afternoon lunch and drive to Hospet. On arrival at Hospet, check in to the hotel.
Day 05: Hampi
After breakfast, drive to Hampi (World Heritage Site). Full day free for Hampi sightseeing that includes Virupaksha Temple, Kadale Kalu Ganesha, Sasive Kalu Ganesha, Krishna Temple, Lakshmi Narasimha, Badavi Linga, Sister Stones, Underground Temple, Mint House, Lotus Mahal, Elephant Stables, Hazara Rama Temple, Palace Area, Mahanavami Dibba, Queen's Bath, Vijaya Vittala Temple (Stone Chariot), King's Balance, Purandara Mantapa, Old Pillar Bridge. Evening, if time permits, visit to Tungabhadra Dam Garden and Musical Fountain. Return to Hospet and overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 06: Bangalore - Tour Ends
Morning After breakfast, check out the hotel and proceed to airport or railway station for your onward journey. Trip ends with the delightful memories of Karnataka Heritage tour package.
